The teams have played each other three times during the season and this will be the fourth and last game. The Avalanche has won two of them, of which one was in a shootout. The Avalanche has been really good throughout the entire season and has surprisingly settled in the top of the Western Conference. They have as many points as the Vancouver Canucks and a victory tonight would take them past the Canucks and up to third place. The Detroit Red Wings have instead surprised negatively and are for the first time in many years close to miss the playoffs, and they have a lot of hard games ahead of them.
The Red Wings have had a lot of injuries this season but are now looking oddly healthy. Only Kirk Maltby is injured, but players like Cleary, Eaves, Filppula and Holmstrom are probably still feeling their recent injuries. The Avalanche was sharp before the break and won four of their last five games. The Red Wings were the opposite and hade big troubles, especially on the road.
It is confirmed that Anderson is starting for the Avalanche and that Howard is in net for the Red Wings. Two good goalies that both have shown for many that they are good enough to be starters in the NHL. That opens for few goals and a bet on less than 5.5 goals is probably good. The game will be close and might go to overtime or a shootout so I won’t bet for a winner. The Avalanche feels like the best option.
