This will be the third game in eight days between the two teams and they have split the points in the first games. The Devils got shut out as late as Tuesday when the Maple Leafs won the game with 3-0, thanks to their new goalie Giguere who was traded to Canada for Vesa Toskala who had to move to the Anaheim Ducks. Both the Maple Leafs and the Devils have been active on the transfer market the latest week and the Maple Leafs have except for Giguere also traded Dion Phaneuf and Fredrik Sjostrom from the Calgary Flames which are really good signings for a team that is struggling in the lower bottom but wants to reach the playoffs. The Devils have probably made an even bigger trade, which gave them the rights to the Atlanda Thrashers superstar Ilya Kovalchuk. The trade is obviously the beginning of a big run for the Stanley Cup and Kovalchuk is definitely one of the best players in the NHL, so the Devils need him. It is not confirmed that he is playing in the game tonight though.
The Maple Leafs and the Devils are both coming to the game with a pretty bad form. The Devils have only won one of the last five games and the Maple Leafs had six straight losses before the win against the Devils on Tuesday. The Devils are always good at home and the fans should be excited to see their new star Ilya Kovalchuk. Brodeur will probably start and he has had some days to rest, so I think he will do good tonight. Under 5.5 goals may be a good bet. Both the teams are struggling offensively, and they both have good goalies. My primary bet is on New Jersey Devils. NHL live stream can be found on gamecenter.nhl.com or espn360.com
