The Philadelphia Flyers won a very important game against the New York Rangers in the last game of the regular season, and they went to a shootout before the Flyers could clinch their playoff spot. There seem to be a curse over the Sharks, who year after year lose early in the playoffs despite great regular seasons and strong rosters. There are now a lot of people who believe in the team from the sunny beaches and with players like Thornton, Heatley and Marleau should they just be able to go far. Experience from really big games do they actually lack, and they are known for their ability to disappear from important games like these.
The Colorado started out great in the beginning of the season, but just as many people thought did they decrease in the standings after Christmas. The Capitals have been great this year, just as expected, and won the President Trophy with most points in the NHL after the regular season. Instead they’ve got Marc Savard back from his injury, but he has looked kind of rusty lately, so I suppose he needs a couple of games to come back to his normal standard.
I believe the players in the Philadelphia Flyers can feel the heat at the moment, and they should have a good chance to win this game now when they are at home. The roster is full of hard working players and they will not give up in the first place. They are going to fight hard until the horn blows, to win this battle. The Canadiens are not a team that conduct games and create a lot of scoring chances, but they have been very effective in the playoff this far. The Canadiens are going to be in this series, as long as they have power to work as hard as they have this far. I think this games will go to the Montreal Canadiens, in front of a fanatic home crowd who will carry their team forward. But they compensate that with a really entertaining and offensive hockey, with young starts like Patrick Kane, Duncan Keith and Jonathan Toews together with more experienced players like Marian Hossa.
