Two interesting but currently weak teams in the Eastern Conference play tonight at 7:00 PM. Can the new players of the Maple Leafs win another game against the Devils. You can see it on espn360.com or gamecenter.nhl.com NHL live stream.
This will be the third game in eight days between the two teams and they have split the points in the first games. The Devils got shut out as late as Tuesday when the Maple Leafs won the game with 3-0, thanks to their new goalie Giguere who was traded to Canada for Vesa Toskala who had to move to the Anaheim Ducks. Both the Maple Leafs and the Devils have been active on the transfer market the latest week and the Maple Leafs have except for Giguere also traded Dion Phaneuf and Fredrik Sjostrom from the Calgary Flames which are really good signings for a team that is struggling in the lower bottom but wants to reach the playoffs. The Devils have probably made an even bigger trade, which gave them the rights to the Atlanda Thrashers superstar Ilya Kovalchuk. The trade is obviously the beginning of a big run for the Stanley Cup and Kovalchuk is definitely one of the best players in the NHL, so the Devils need him. It is not confirmed that he is playing in the game tonight though.
The Maple Leafs and the Devils are both coming to the game with a pretty bad form. The Devils have only won one of the last five games and the Maple Leafs had six straight losses before the win against the Devils on Tuesday. The Devils are always good at home and the fans should be excited to see their new star Ilya Kovalchuk. Brodeur will probably start and he has had some days to rest, so I think he will do good tonight. Under 5.5 goals may be a good bet. Both the teams are struggling offensively, and they both have good goalies. My primary bet is on New Jersey Devils. The Capitals got their twelfth straight win last night against the New York Rangers and they are now going home after two games on the road. The hunt for a thirteenth straight win starts tonight at 7:00 PM and there are NHL live streams on gamecenter.nhl.com or espn360.com. The Capitals are on fire right now, but it seemed like the Rangers could have stopped their fantastic sequence last night. The Capitals turned the game around and won with 6-5 despite a Rangers lead throughout the entire game. Ovechkin, Semin, Backstrom and the rest of the guys are continuing putting up points and the Capitals already look like a team for the Stanley Cup.
The Capitals have won all three games so far against the Atlanta Thrashers and all the games have been on the road. They are now going to play at home and there are the Capitals very dangerous. The Thrashers are going to miss the recently traded star Ilya Kovalchuk and without him offensively don’t they have many players that can score. Afinogenov, Antropov and Kozlov may be a first line and together have they only scored eight goals more than Ilya KOvalchuk has scored on his own this season.
I think that the Capitals are going to extend their success; despite they are going back to back after the game against the Rangers last night. The self confidence must me great, the players have fun at work and the scores keep coming. The Capitals should win fairly easy against the Thrashers without their top player. But streaks are made to be broken so I wouldn’t count on the Capitals to 100 % in this game. Moneyline is a good option, or bet also on a draw.
