The Bruins were earlier in the season a stable top team, but they have now dropped a couple of games during the winter and are now in seventh place in Eastern Conference with five losses in their last six games. The Columbus Blue Jackets have been even worse and are stuck in the bottom. But they have played better lately, especially in their offense. Their forwards are facing Tuukka Rask tonight and he feels better than Steve Mason in the net for the Blue Jackets. Marco Sturm and Steve Begin are injured and might not play. The Bruins got to rest one more day than the Blue Jackets and I am sure they are really hungry for a win after the terrible loss against the Ottawa Senators on Monday. The Ottawa Senators have won four straight games after a long time with bad scores. Alfredsson is back, but he misses his line mates Spezza and Michalek. Blues are going back to back after yesterday’s victory against the Montreal Canadiens and I think the game could have made the players tired. The goalies of the Seantors have been really good recently and I am sure they can play well tonight too. Elliot starts and he has played better than anyone thought he would in Leclaire’s absence. The comeback of the team captain Daniel Alfredsson has made a big difference for the Senators who are now looking like a good team for the playoffs. The Islanders are finally up on a playoff spot after a couple of good efforts the latest weeks. De lost yesterday to the Pittsburgh Penguins but they had four straight wins before that. The Panthers have also started to play good and they are right behind the other teams battling for a playoff spot. They know every point is important for them to reach the playoffs. Vokoun has been brilliant for the Panthers and he is very important for his team. The Islanders are strong at home and their self confidence must be good after the last month. It will be an even game with few goals. Minus for the Panthers that they are missing David Booth and Stephen Weiss. Under 5.5 goals or Islanders and X is my bet.
